Stefan Jovanović creates sculptures, spaces and performances about the kinships of tomorrow, radical togetherness, and the healing of social and archetypal trauma. He is a choreographer, therapist, and artistic director of dance-architecture company Studio Stefan Jovanović & therapy practice Kinship Constellations.
His most recent theatrical work Constellations, premiered at Sadler’s Wells in London (2019). He has shown work at Siobhan Davies Dance, Asylum Chapel, Stone Nest, Toulouse- Lautrec Museum, and the Goya Museum. He holds workshops and teaches regularly at Independent Dance, Royal College of Art, London Contemporary Dance School and the AA. His work has most recently featured with Inner Truth & The Architecture Foundation.
He has previously worked with Peter Macapia/LabDORA, Astronaut Kawada Architecture, Tarek Shamma Design, Tanztheater Wuppertal/Pina Bausch & Musée de la Danse. He was a What Now? resident artist at Independence Dance (2014), the recipient of the DanceWEB Scholarship at ImpulsTanz International Festival of Dance (2016), New Museum IdeasCity Athens Fellow (2016), and a resident artist at the Sadler’s Wells Summer University (2015-2018).
